Engineers Ireland Medal

The Engineers Ireland Biomedical Research Medal is awarded annually to a PhD student deemed to be making a significant contribution to the field of biomedical engineering research as evidenced by the submission of a research paper and delivery of a presentation summarising his/her work.  The winner will receive the commemorative medal and will also be invited to publish the research paper in the Engineers Journal, the official publication of Engineers Ireland.  In addition, they will receive a €1,000 honorarium.  DePuy Synthes is generously sponsoring the 2018 event.

The 2018 Medal will be presented at the 24th Annual Conference of the Section of Bioengineering of Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (Bioengineering in Ireland) which will be held at The Johnstown Estate Hotel & Spa, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland from Friday 26th – 27th January 2018. Finalists will be shortlisted for the award based on submission of an abstract for the conference and the shortlisted finalists will be invited to submit a six page research paper and will present their research in a plenary session on the opening day of the conference.
